In this video I use Tinkercad to design a fishing rod handle by the specifications of the rod blank I had on hand. All prints for this project were completed with the Anet A8 with stock extruder. The inserts of the handle are printed in Makergeeks PETG filament for temperature resistance and overall strength. The handle sheaths for the inserts are printed in Makergeeks Maker Flex filament in the Boss Black color. The Maker Flex filament is a TPEE filament and is soft but not too elastic, I used only 5% infill on the flex sheaths to make sure the grip had some give like foam handles do. I had previously done some thread art on the rod for this project so I used Tinkercad to design the inserts with the larger ID to fit over the threadwork without damaging it. Using printed parts as the arbor really made the handle strong and durable along with saving a lot of money.
